Bus

The Marin Stagecoach offers convenient bus service to and from the Tourist Club starting at the Manzanita Park & Ride right off Highway 101 at the Mill Valley/Stinson Beach/Hwy 1 exit.  The cost is $2 per person, exact change required. Refer to the Marin Stagecoach schedule for details.

The bus drops off at three nearby locations:

A) Bayview Ave, from which you can hike in via the Sun Trail

B) Ridge Ave, the cross street for the Tourist Club on Panoramic Highway

C) The Mountain Home Inn, from which you can hike in on the Redwood Trail.

Trails

The best way to reach us is on foot! We recommend getting a Mt. Tamalpais trail map, which may be purchased at the club, REI, or wherever trail maps are sold.

There are two main trails to the Tourist club, as indicated on the map below:

  1. The Redwood Trail. Park at the trailhead across from the Mountain Home Inn, walk south on the Panoramic Trail along to the highway, then turn right down the Redwood Trail. This hike takes about 20 minutes.
  2. The Dipsea Trail to the Sun Trail. Although there is a significant amount of uphill on the way here, it is all downhill on the way home! Park in downtown Mill Valley, walk up Throckmorton to Old Mill Park, and start up the Dipsea Steps. At the top of the Dipsea Steps, turn right to walk a short distance on the trail along the road, then continue up Walsh. At the top you will reach Panoramic Highway; cross it and turn right at the Y to continue on the Sun Trail. This hike takes about 45 minutes.
